The Life, Struggles, and Musical Legacy of Odisha’s Beloved Singer Humane Sagar, Who Died at 34

Humane Sagar grew up in a family that loved music. His parents were great singers, and his grandfather made private music CDs, so Sagar grew up with music all around him. This early exposure sparked his love of singing and set him on a path to a career in music.

In 2012, while he was on Tarang TV’s Voice of Odisha, a lot of people initially saw his skill. He won because of his strong performances and emotive delivery. This was the start of an amazing journey in the world of playback singing.

His sickness, care, and last hours

On October 14 around 1:10 pm, Sagar was taken to the emergency room at AIIMS Bhubaneswar in a very bad state. After an initial assessment, he was sent to the Medical ICU for more intense care and a number of diagnostic testing.

Medical records showed that there were a number of serious health problems, such as:

Syndrome of multi-organ dysfunction

Acute-on-chronic liver failure

Pneumonia in both lungs

Dilated cardiomyopathy with significant left ventricular systolic dysfunction

Even though he got aggressive treatment, his health got worse and physicians couldn’t save him.Two days before he died, the former Chief Minister of Odisha wrote a message on X saying he was worried and praying for Sagar’s recovery, hoping he would be able to return to his family and music soon. Sadly, fate had other ideas.

Mohan Majhi, the Chief Minister of Odisha, said on X that he was really sad.

“I’m very sad to hear that the famous playback vocalist Humane Sagar has died. His death is a loss that can’t be fixed for our movies and music. I send my sympathies to the family of the deceased and pray for the soul to find rest.
