‘Dude’ to Stream on Netflix from November 14 After Box Office Success

After a blockbuster theatrical run, the romantic comedy ‘Dude’ is now ready to make its digital debut. Directed by Keerthiswaran and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film stars Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamitha Baiju in lead roles.

The film, which hit theatres worldwide on October 17, 2025, during Diwali, received both critical and commercial success. Netflix India officially announced its OTT release on social media with a witty caption:

“One DUDE, one thousand problems, no solutions Watch Dude on Netflix, out 14 November in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.”

About ‘Dude’ — A Romantic Comedy with a Twist

Dude follows the story of Agan (Pradeep Ranganathan) and Kural (Mamitha Baiju) — two young lovers whose relationship takes an unexpected turn when Kural proposes marriage. What starts out as a sweet love story quickly turns into a drama full of dark family secrets, emotional turmoil, and coming to terms with oneself.

Along with Neha Shetty, Hridhu Haroon, and Rohini, who play important supporting parts, the movie also stars R. Sarathkumar as Kural’s father. Fans love the music, which was written by Sai Abhyankkar. Several songs have been at the top of area streaming charts.

Acclaim from critics and reactions from audiences

Reports say that Dude made over 113 crore rupees around the world, with an amazing 85 crore rupees just in India. Additionally, the film made more than ₹100 crore in just six days, making it one of the biggest hits in Tamil love comedies of 2025.

The Hindustan Times gave the movie high marks for how it told its story, saying:

“Dude, it could have been a simple love story…” But then it wouldn’t be a story written in Pradeep. Keerthiswaran puts both his leads through the wringer, highlighting social realities without being preachy.”

Netflix’s Record-Breaking Deal

Sources reveal that Netflix paid a record price to acquire the film’s digital rights, marking one of the platform’s biggest deals with Mythri Movie Makers. The movie did well at the box office and had a lot of young fans, so it was a very popular OTT title.

Fans who missed the movie in theaters can now watch this emotional roller coaster from the comfort of their own homes starting November 14.
